Tom's Family

 

Tom was the eldest son of Francis Hudson (1863-1937) and Mary Jean (Minnie) Smith (1869-1952), who had married on the 29th of June 1889 in Redfern, Sydney, having already had a child, Ruby Catherine in 1888. Francis was born in Goulburn, NSW, the son of Thomas Hudson (1803-1875) and Alice Anne Keyte (1838-1922). Mary was born in Wagga Wagga, NSW, the daughter of James Smith (1834-1869) and Sarah Buckley (1840-1885). Frank and Mary moved to Nymagee and had two more daughters, Bertie (1890) and Glady (1893) before Tom was born in 1895. Other children followed - Frank (1898), Denis (1901) Ellen (1903), William (1906), Henry (1910) and Stella (1913).

At the time of the war the family lived at 22 Foreman St, Tempe and after the war moved to Waratah St, Canterbury
